gofastclint Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I struggle to walk 10m without aid, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good brand of folding walking stick small enough to stow in a Jabiru. All the brands I have tested have been too flimsy. Just for humor, here's some nick names I have received from fellow flyers at The Oaks: Hop along. Limpy. Prangster. Hoppy. That crippled guy. Now every time I get home from flying I cry myself to sleep.
Guest Maj Millard Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Look I have seen some pretty neat and efficient folding walking sticks in my day (not used one myself yet) but as far as where you get them ?...sorry,not a clue. Good luck though. Maybe Google it if you use the internet.

All the brands I have tested have been too flimsy. Have a look at this link GF http://www.walking-stick.net/acatalog/Carbon_Fibre.html They look so flash I'm thinking of getting one myself .... and I don't even need one (yet). This would definitely make me look like a rat with a gold tooth.
jcruffle Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I've seen them at chemists - not that dear. They are segmented with an elasticised cord running down the centre: you stretch them and collapse them.... if that makes sense.

Guest keeffe Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I know a para plegic that flies a bonanza and he also drives a manual with a stick. Mike
