Student Pilot Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Looks good, those 912's cowl up nicely. How long till first flight?
Admin Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 - Cecil, fingers crossed they will be taking it up tomorrow for some test flights providing the paperwork comes through from RAA. The guy who is installing the avionics should also be starting his work tomorrow so it should be ready on the weekend to fly and I am waiting for the graphics guy to do the vinyls which should be ready early next week. At this stage I have to go to Sydney this weekend for all next week for work but after that I will be up and away. Will make a difference after the Gazelle.
Guest Guest Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I know I'm abit late but that is an amazing aircraft, congratulations!
Guest palexxxx Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Ian, That '69 Mach 1 Mustang in picture 6, is that yours? What's the story with that? Did you buy it here or did you buy it in the U.S. Does it have a 351 or is it a big block? Peter.
Admin Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 No Peter That's just one of the Mustangs that I think the owner of Riddells Creek Airstrip collects - I am a Ford man though with a BA Series 2 Fairmont Ghia and an AU Fairmont Wagon - my parents drive a Holden and they know it's not allowed in the driveway Actually by you dragging this old post up has reminded me that my new CT will be arriving in only about 2 months now - the wait now will kill me with anticipation.
Guest palexxxx Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Ian, Hang in there, I'm sure the wait will be well worth it. Only wish it was me. Peter. By the way, I have a BA Mk 2 XR6.

Admin Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 Great - congratulations Mario you will be taking to those Italian skies before you know it. Are we having sleepless nights at the moment as I bet the anticipation must be at boiling point - keep the pictures coming it is always great see someone get their new aircraft.
Guest danda Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Me thinks I likes! Not a bad looking aircraftdo they have carpet in them would finish them off inside althoughI wouldn't nock one back just because of the carpet. I hope youfellows have many fun filled trouble free hours in your great aircrafts, all the best and I hope to catch up with you around the traps. Don
Guest John_Venema Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Absolutely beautiful aircraft Ian. Can't wait for the new sw to arrive and go for a spin over Riddell's Creek mate;)
Guest marioplano Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Mine has arrived What do you think? Ciao, Mario
Admin Posted November 23, 2006 Author Posted November 23, 2006 Looking really good Mario - I bet you are the proudest father over there in Italy with the new baby - and rightly so. Good idea about the padlock and remove before flight on the ballistic chute lever. Curious why you went for the Flydat instead of another Dynon for EMS?
Guest marioplano Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Thank you all! I agree with Ian about the flydat. It came as standard equipment when I ordered the ct. I don't like it really much and I plan to change it with the dynon as soon as possible. Ciao, Mario
WestCoast Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Panel looks greatMario.......can you confirm that the ASI & altimeter are 3 1/8 inch diameter? (is the ASI manufactured by UMA?). I was told that FD could not fit the D100 as well as the 3 1/8 inch units into the panel so have the 2 1/4 inch dials. (see below) Can you tell me what the instrument is above the 'slip/skid ball' to the left of the Dynon .....is that an pitch inclinometer??( Also...what make is the Vertical Speed Indicator?) Is that a TCAS above the Flydat?........sorry for so many questions, but am curious. Regards Dave WestCoast
Guest marioplano Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Great panel yours too, Dave! Yes, they are 3 1/8 inch, brand "Winter". Maybe they told you it wasn't possible in your CT because of the horizontal alignment with the other dynon on the right (?). The instrument to the left of the efis is the remote elt switch. The vsi is a "Falcon Gauge". Above the flydat is the "monroy traffic watch" tcas (passive): it's good when you have few traffic around you, if not, you get too many warnings, you get bored and you turn it off making it useless :) ciao, Mario
WestCoast Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Thanks Mario....that explains it all. I guess you are right about the horizontal alignment however those3 1/8 instruments are much easier to read than the 2 1/4 although with the D100, I never look at them much anyway.........nice to haveas a backup though. Have you had a chance to do very much flying as yet? Chris....have sent you a P.M. We get down your way to YMUL often, soif you see us, you are welcome to fly the CTsw if you wish. Regards Dave
