Guest sypkens Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Hi, I have been asked to post this notice as Nick is (supposedly... ) better at flying planes than he is posting notices. Hope to see you there. Jan My Fellow Aviator, On behalf of the RAAus and the Gold Coast Sports Flying Club, Heck Field, Jacob's Well, I would like to invite you and those around you that may be interested to a Recreational Aviation Australia Basic Maintenance Forum and CASA AvSafety Seminar on the subject of Airmanship to be held on Saturday the 21st of February . The RAAus forum is aimed at enhancing the skills of all Level 1 maintenance authory holders from Student Pilots through to the more experienced with registration for the forums starting at 8:15am and the cost for the RAAus forums being $15. Commencing at 8:45am, Steve Bell, the RAAus Technical Manager will have a 45 minute Tech Talk question and answer session. From 9:30am Hangar Forums presented by Steve Bell, Richard Eacott (Rotax Engine Specialist) and Malcolm Aldred (L2) will cover airframe and engine inspections, basic maintenance and aircraft electrical systems. What to look at and what to look for. A BBQ lunch, which has been kindly sponsored by CASA in conjunction with the AvSafety Seminar will be from 12:30pm and will provide an opportunity to discuss issues with CASA Aviation Safety Advisors Charles Galea and Andrew Warland-Browne. Following this, the AvSafety Seminar will commence at 2:30pm and be on the subject of Airmanship. A speaker from AirServices will also be present. For those who are driving, the venue is located at 1638 Jacob's Well Road (near the corner of Behms Rd) and for flyers, Heck Field is situated just south of the Jacob's Well (JCW) VOR and is displayed on both the Brisbane and Gold Coast VTCs. Runways directions are 10/28 and 18/36 and aircraft parking is available. If you are thinking of coming (to either or both events) or for further details, please visit the club website www.gcsfc.org.au or contact the club vice-president, Jason King on 0418 986 609 or myself at [email protected] . While I realise that many members may not be able to make the journey due to distance or other commitments please pass the message on to those who can. Many thanks, Nick Sigley Recreational Aviation Australia Southern Queensland Board Representative Please note this event may be subject to minor change

shags_j Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 It's not too late to register for this is it?
Guest sypkens Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 It's not too late to register for this is it? I don't believe you have to pre-register. The brochure mentions registration start at 8:15 and costs $15 so you should be able to do it there. Regards, jan
