Guest garrett81 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Hi All Now, i am sure that this question has been asked and answered somewhere on this site.. I just cant find it. A few years back i did 10 hours of my Ra Aus Cert and due to some unforseen circumstances had to give up my training. When i started doing my licence i was told by someone ( i cant remember who) that you only get one chance at your licence and if you stop doing it, you do not get another chance. so my question is this, now that i am financially able to do my Ra aus cert, can i? or was he right? Also if it is possible to start again, what would be the process? Does previous airtime count? (i am assuming it doesn't because of lapsed period of time) Any help would be appreciated Cheers
Tomo Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 If your previous hours of training were put into a log book and recorded, then I don't see why you can't use your previous hours... But It does all boil down to your competency in the whole thing (I'm pretty sure), you may need to go through all the steps again just because you aren't up to scratch with controlling the aircraft, but then again you may pick it up straight off... depends on how well you remember everything I guess, and how much of it will come back to you. I reckon if I was in your situation, I'd go and have a TIF, see what the instructor reckons, and go from there. Just my 5cents... Cheers,
