Guest Windrider Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Hello all, just arrived after having sold my Cessna 152. Have the itch to build a Savannah, since I have about 1000 ft. to use as a runway. Just too short for a 152, looks just right for a Savannah. I have about 400 hours time, most all in Cessna's. Hoping to pick up some pointers on building, and and be able to add some, if I can ever get mine started.
Admin Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Welcome to the site Windrider - there are many Savannah guys here so if you have any questions just ask away - is the Savannah called an Ultralight or Light Sports Aircraft over there in the States?
Guest Windrider Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Thanks for the welcome, and glad to be here. In the States, the Savannah is a Light Sport Aircraft, which has only been open a few years. If you build it, it can be registered as an Experimental. I'm not sure any two-place will qualify for ultralight in the States, except for training purposes. Also, the Savannah is way too fast for our ultralight category.
