Guest shiner Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I've just acquired a Farmmate SV11 ultralight. Would apreciate any info on designer/builder or any thing else on subject.
Wilfred Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I would think all the info would be in your maintenance log book.
Guest ozzie Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 correct on the designer. they were built in victoria and was one of several designs by Sanda during the late seventies and early eighties, all leaning towards the moterglider concept. unfortunatly sanda is no longer with us. but a few examples still exist. try contacting the RAAus for members who own these types. past copies of Pacific Flyer have several stories of rebuilds ect. unfortunatley this is one classic that i do not have any info in my achives. it wasn't a requirement to have documentation for pre '86 ultralights so not much remains on older types. (tried google?) oz ozzie
Guest shiner Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I guess that if the original log book was with the plane, it would be!! Your reply doesnt tell me anything I need to know
Wilfred Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Is The aircraft registered If so the log book is part of the sale and must be transferred to the new owner Otherwise contact RAA. I believe there are still five of these aircraft on the register, and they may be able to help you with info or contact details for other owners.

408059 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I visited the factory in country Victoria in the 1980s. The design was years ahead of the rag and tube I was used to seeing. The SV11 was one of the later models. From memory, I think he passed away testing an aircraft that had the ailerons hooked up incorrectly. Dont quote me on it though. Steve
Guest ozzie Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 From a report that was in one of the issues of MAFA's Contact newsletter (i was editor of this for 5 years) i believe it was a problem with the all flying V tail were one inverted. mass balance issue or flutter issue. Ozzie
winsor68 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 The SV's were a topic of discussion at Natfly at Temora as was Sandra... eyewitness reports confirm that he hooked the ailerons up backwards on the tragic day of his fatal crash... On topic... you could try contacting the Holbrook Museum for info on the SV... Google Holbrook Ultralight Club.
