Admin Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I never fly in Windowed mode these days, and prefer XP over Vista but I came across this odd tip on a forum not long ago (from Jasmckee, over here) and it’s so simple I thought I should include it in the library here. Basically, some people complain of very low FPS when flying in windowed mode using Vista. The “fix” is rather easy… just make sure the bottom part of the FSX window isn’t touching the Vista taskbar on the bottom of the screen. That’s it. Apparently having the FSX window touch or overlap the taskbar in Vista can cause a loss of as much as 15fps for some reason. If you run Vista, and run FSX in a window just move it up a bit so there is no overlap and you might see a good frame rate improvement. Weird perhaps, but it’s worth trying.
