Guest Pop-top Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Best piece of advice I was given to buy a pilots watch; dont get the one with 22 time zones, they dont allow for the CST 9.5 hours as they only do full hours. get one with 40+ time zones. But while we are on the topic of watches...Has anyone seen a smaller or female version of the pilots watch coz all the ones I've seen are the size of my fist not my wrist!
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Hi Thumper, hows your flying going ?..haven't heard from you in a while, or is it me who's been away.......don't know much about girls'...........watches, so sorry can't help you there........................................
Guest Pop-top Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Hey Maj Millard, Yeah I haven't been on the forums much lately. Been very busy with two of my friends weddings, VERY excited to be flying this Sunday afternoon though as it's been a few weeks since my last lesson :) Think I might either need to look for a duel time zone watch as someone suggested or just get a humongous chunky one. Just out of interest is anyone going to Barossa Valley Airshow in Adelaide on the 19th April?
Guest Decca Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Maj: I have a spare Brietling. Looks like a REAL pilot's watch. One thing though, it was bought in Bali. Very cheap! Decca

Guest Decca Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Dutch Auction Here's a (sort of) photo of the Breitling (I think).
Guest Decca Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I did it. Uploaded the photo that is. There's always a first time for computer dummies. Just have to remember "how to" for the next one. Apologies for the photo quality. And I'm waiting for Admin to call back so I can reqest approval for a Dutch Auction on the Breitling chronometer to raise some more funds for the Rec Flying Scholarship and/or Fire Victim appeal. Don't know if there will be too much interest in a copy watch, but worth a try. It must need a new battery too 'cause it's not ticking. Regards, Decca.
Simonflyer Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Have a look at this Skylines Aviation Supply - Moorabbin Not a bad watch for the price, although i was lucky enough to have the whole family tip in and buy me Citizen Promaster, which on last check Gee Bees at essendon airport had on quite a good special. Cheers Simon
Tomo Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 Don't know if there will be too much interest in a copy watch, but worth a try. I could be interested... Is it in good order, other than not ticking!! such as cosmetically?
Guest Decca Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Tomo it's cosmetically near perfect. Great pose value. Let's get it past Ian first, then if it's not a goer you can order one from anyone you know heading to Bali or Singapore for the price of a pocket full of small change, brand new too, wrapped in a cellophane pack. Decca.
