TopGun Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 G'day All, I was wondering what everyone thought about the BEST and most INTERESTING, even the most INFORMATIVE magazine regarding flying out there?? Cheers, Jarryd:radioactive:
Guest Brett Campany Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 #1. Highly recommend Recreational Aviation Australia magazine #2. Australian Aviation for news and reviews #3. Australian Pilot. Those three will give you a good idea of what's happening in Australian aviation but the RAAus magazine will get you in the cockpit quicker!
Ultralights Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 The Raaus mag, but the best would have to be Kitplanes.. plenty of good articals from aligning a Jabiru cowl, to flying a viperjet.
gofastclint Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 The Raaus mag, but the best would have to be Kitplanes.. plenty of good articals from aligning a Jabiru cowl, to flying a viperjet. Kitplanes is great, I get many hours of enjoyment in each issue. The Aussie mags are very lacking in decent tech articles.
Guest Brett Campany Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 You guys forgot the Pacific Flyer:crying: And Aviator! That's not a bad mag either.
gofastclint Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 You guys forgot the Pacific Flyer:crying: I like the personal side of Pacific Flyer, hearing about peoples own flying experience is great.
BLA82 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 It's a great magazine for that, less crap and more real life experiences
Tomo Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 And Aviator! That's not a bad mag either. Yes I like this one... nice and thick, for a pretty good price:thumb_up:
Deskpilot Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Whilst the RAA mag is the best for our type of flying, Todays Pilot from the UK is by far the best all round mag. Everything from ultralights to detailed reports on flying a retired jet fighter.
hihosland Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 And this site beats the lot Thanks Ian, Ross et al
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Yes deskpilot, I have read the pommie one and was really impressed with the completeness of cover, also unbiased about aircraft types, and great print quality. When I'm feeling a little rich (not much lately), I can't resist going out and picking up the latest Smithsonian Air and Space magazine. Always keeps me on my back for about a week or so...................................
Yenn Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I like 2 English mags. Pilot and Flyer. Never seen Todays Pilot, but I do have a magazine/book by them of aircraft flight tests. Very good.
