Guest Guest Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Wednesday November 1, 003 AM Three die in plane crash in Queensland Investigators are travelling to the site of a plane crash on Queensland's central coast that killed three people on Tuesday night. The light aircraft crashed into a hill 5km south of Raglan, around 50km north of Gladstone, just after 7pm (AEST). The plane was believed to have been travelling from Emerald to Gladstone. Police said the pilot and two passengers were aged 22, 35, and 47. Further details of the dead, including their names, have not yet been released. The crash was reported to authorities by residents who reported hearing the engine cut out and then a loud bang. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau said no distress call was recorded before the plane went down. The wreckage and voice tapes of the flight will be examined as part of the investigation. Guest Fred Bear Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 I believe so Ben. Damn shame it was. Apparently the aircraft owners son (22 year old) may have been at the controls (he is a trainee pilot). They are not sure if it was him at this stage or the older gent who was at the controls.
