Blue top 582 question

Hi guys, what year did the blue top 582 come on the market.

At a guess I would say 99..........I just happen to be looking at the parts manual on the 582 today, most differences between the grey and the blue are external, and most of the internals are the same.....................

I was about to search the net to find out the difference between the grey and blue head 582 and saw your post.

 

Is there any difference in the crankshaft and bearings?, some time ago,I heard they had beefed this area up in the blue.

Yes Frank quite possibly, I didn't get into checking part numbers down that far but I will next time I've got the disc in. Rotax does seem to improve a few things as the new models come out lately...............................................................

Hi Gents, I can confirm that the blue top 582cc motor came into use around mid 1999 as my 582 grey top was the last one to be fitted by the trike manufacturer (airborne) in April 1999
