Would anyone have any basic info Taralga YTLG NSW (airstrip not town), such as owner, lengths website ect

 

I can find it on google maps but thats all I can locate

I believe both strips are closed, the nearest is either Crookwell ALA or Goulburn YGLB.

I have landed in the spare block next to one of the pubs, but that was in a rotary. Don't think even Biggles could pull that one off.

 

I haven't even seen a strip at Taralga, despite looking many times.

Nope. Taralga is about 50k north of the highway.

The strip beside the Hume Hwy is Marulan. Plenty long at about 1000m estimated, but undulating.

Near Taralga

 

The official opening of The Tablelands Way was held just North of Taralga on Saturday. (See pic.) In the lead up I enquired about strips on nearby farms, but none were described as currently serviceable.. So we flew over and flew back (to Oberon).

 

There must surely be some around there - but locating friendly owners is the challenge..

YTLG is no longer in the ERSA list of ICAO codes, which also suggests it's been abandoned.
