Guest ron dunn Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Hello everybody. It's been a while since I was last in but my VP1 rebuild project is coming along sloooowly. Engine in now with some systems to be fitted. New prop purchased and to be fitted. Have just ordered the fabric (Poly fiber) and will pick it up on the way back from Narromine. That is if I get over the shock of the price they quoted me AND that did not include fuse covering as I have already completed that with local supplies! A figure of over 2 grand is getting a little steep but inhindsight I should have made the purchase months ago when the dollar was high. As they say-90 percent completed and 90 percent to go!!! Cheers for now:rotary:
planedriver Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Good luck Ron, you'll get there for sure. They say a slow job takes a bit longer than expected, but it will be well worth the effort. Regards Planey
Guest Decca Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Hi Ron, thanks for the update, and introducing us to the VP1. I had a look at the greatplainsas & Evans websites & it's a very interesting aircraft, if I got the right one. To what extent is the rebuild; anything structural? Show us some photos if you can please. Did you shop around for the fabric? Decca.
