Ben Longden Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Its not often I pass along an email scam notice.. these things are usually sooo obvious. But I received an invoice in the snail mail from a company called DOMAIN RENEWAL GROUP. its a US firm with a base in Collins St, Melbourne. So on face value, it had a greater look of being genuine. Essentially, it said to ensure my domain name could not be used by anyone else, I needed to pay this firm $75 a year. My first thought was "Dosen't my web service already do that?" The answer is yes, they do. And so will yours. So, if you have a website up and running and you get an invoice in the post from DOMAIN RENEWAL GROUP, just file it in the bin. Or, do what I did.. send them back their envelope with no stamp, and nothing in it. Ben
