Guest watto Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 You just did, congratulations and welcome Warwick. Watto
Guest Warwick Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Thanks Watto. I also fly a J 200B - many hours up on that. The J230 looks good with the panel mounted throttles and Dual stick. Can you get 120 KIAS cruise ??? @ what fuel burn ?? Warwick
Guest watto Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Yeh mate I can get 120Kias in sooth air with little effort, its seems to cruise most economically at 110kias at 2800rpm on around 20 to 22 lph, if I punch the throttle then it will use a little more but according to Jabiru 110 Kias is 120k true air speed. I flew home from Brisbane a few weeks ago and had a raging tail wind and recorded a ground speed of 152 k so that was a quick trip. How do you find the 200 B? where are you located?
Guest Warwick Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Located at Caboolture which is just north of brisbane as you'd probaly know. The J200 I find is excellent for X/Ctry trips (or even local) One trip I did to obtain an accurate rate of fuel useage was from Caboolture to Gladstone and return that took all up including taxiing 4 hrs 10 minutes. Fuel burn was 22 and 1/3rd litres per hour and I was certainly pushing the Jab along. no probs in tassing 120 KIAS. Jabiru has always suggested to me to not exactly nurse it along. haha. What I did is common to ensure an accurate result. Topped up to the brim at the Shell bowser at YCAB and again on return from Gladstone. That way obviously a true result was obtained. I can't remeber the details of the total nautical miles covered or thwe ground speeds. I was after true endurance as i was about to plan a trip from Caboolture to Cairns and return. That didn't eventuate as circumstances relative to Cairns changed and became unnecesary. Thanks for your feed back too. Warwick
Guest watto Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 No worries, I am often in Brisbane visiting my children and have been meaning to call into Ycab as there is no fuel at Jacobs well but have not been around to it yet and have just drummed a bit of mogas to get me home to Rodds Bay strip which is 10 minutes from Gladstone. Take it easy Watto
