farri Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Ozzie,You are a history marvel. David Ozzi, Did you know Dick Fry of NQEA,now passed away,he had something very similar to the mustang,it had a red and black chequred wing. Frank.
David Isaac Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Ozzie, Do you know of any reason why I could not put the Rotax 447 on top of the main fuselage spa like was done with the Mustang in the photo you sent me? Would the slight difference in the trust centreline have any adverse affect on the AC performance? Would I need any sort of RAA approval to carry out such a mod? It would certainly improve pilot visibility and is mechanically very simple to achieve. Regards, David
Guest ozzie Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 No, there is no reason that you can't do this like the mod done in NZ. the only reason he wanted to do this was to improve forward visbility. Best to have a talk to a level 2 or contact the raa and see what they require. possibly just draw the mod up to add to aircrafts file and have the work inspected. there would be no real difference in the thrust line that would affect handeling. there is just to much drag from the airframe. Ozzie
