Captain Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I have posted this today in the Events section. Can Donkey or enyone else down that way give us the drum on what is planned and whether it will be worth the trip for those forum members that are further afield. And will camping be permitted under the wing? Regards Geoff
Guest brentc Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 further afield pffftt Geoff, you cruise on 120 knots, this is hardly 'further afield' as you put it I flew to Wagga for a day trip to the SAAA so now it's your turn ;) I flew in the last Latrobe Valley airshow some 8 years ago (approx) and I remember that being a very good day. For Jab owners there's a lot of Jab owners there (it's like a mini Narromine) so it will be a good get together and the flying displays a small bonus. Security is low key so camping somewhere on the field should be ok however there are plenty of forum members here from LTV that might be able to help out. I can probably find you a bed at Tooradin which is 27 minutes away.
Captain Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 Some dedicated souls organise another Airshow and today they get the weather saying. Isn't that exactly what Echuca got? What is going on?: SEVERE TURBULENCE IN THE SOUTH CHECK SIGMET WIND: 2000 5000 7000 10000 14000 18500 290/30 270/40 260/45 250/45 MS02 250/45 MS06 250/50 MS15 REMARK: WINDS 15/20KT STRONGER S OF YNRC/YBOM ALL LEVELS. But at least any visitors from SA will get over quickly.
Guest brentc Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Ouch! If I do fly there, it will be at 500 ft. My usual travel time of 25 minutes will be remarkably reduced!
Guest Nelson Smith Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Further to Brent and Kevin's info on the airshow at yltv camping under the wings is ok. Sunday the airshow gets underway at 11 am. The recreational aircraft fly past is SUNDAY.Anyone needing transport to or from the towns will be looked after by aero club members and if the weather gives us a break it will be a top weekend. Nelson
Guest brentc Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Nelson, FYI Gerard T at the aero club was telling people the show started as 12pm !
