BLA82 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 The word "missing" has negative connotations but it is not true for many aspects of aviation. Missing the ground with many parts of the aircraft takes practice and there are a number of ways to make practicing this routine more enjoyable, the low pass, and touch and go's are just 2. Creative pilots though find other ways to practice avoiding the ground. FAR 61.57 requires pilots to have 3 take offs and landings every 3 months before carrying a passenger to ensure they can put the wheels back on the ground safely without other parts of the aircraft touching the ground. So whatever your aiming at, remember sometimes it is good to miss. --- Watch Now!
