BruceScott Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 G'day All Been a while since I have posted anything here and the last one was in January this year after I had my first lesson in Deniliquin. Well today about 13.5 hours later the instructor asked me to stop and he just got out and shut the door. Before he shut the door his last words were do one by yourself. Well that is exactly what happened and I did my first solo in a Jab 160 and from what the audience said, probably my best landing yet. But a beautiful day and no wind. Feeling was unreal after completing the curcuit, landing and taxi back to the club house. Happened all too quick and was over before I even knew. Went back up for 2 more curcuits with Don and the landings were just as good. Thought that one solo curcuit today was enough. Looking forward to next stage of training and getting pilot certificate. Cheers Bruce
facthunter Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Well done. Good on you Bruce. That didn't take too long, did it? May it all keep happening for you. Nev..
BruceScott Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 Thanks for the positive comments, I have had some weather on my side the last few weeks so it made the landings a lot easier. The test will be when I get a few more crosswinds and see what happens then. At least Don will not send me out if the weather is beyond my capabilities without him. We had a croswind a few weeks ago and the were OK. Cheers
farri Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Congratulations Bruce,I hope you enjoy thousands of hours more and you`ve brought back the memory of the time I sent a lady solo in the Drifter. She was so excited that when she landed she got of the aircraft, lay on her back on the ground, shook her arms and legs in the air and laughing, said,"If only my mother could see me now". Were you that excited?. Cheers, Frank. PS. She was wearing a flying suit.
BruceScott Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 Thanks Frank Nearly that excited but I knelt on the ground and kissed it. Not really but I was as happy as larry as I taxied back to the clubhouse. Still a long way to go. Cheers
