Guest lloyd2234 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 G'day Everyone Just signed upon here to let you guys know about one of the most amazing races in the world and one of the most versatile wings in the world. i'm sure some of you guys have heard of paragliding but i'm guessing most would dismiss it as nothing to searious. i'm here to enlighten you ;-) Just yesterday i flew 120 kms, 2 weeks ago 168 and landed because my pickup driver wasn't to keen on the 500 km round trip. I could have kept going but they had already driven most the way to get me. I am just about to head off to The European Alps to compete in a race by foot and flying through 5 country's, day and night, non stop. I competed 2 years ago and it took me 17days, running between 1 and 2 marathons per day, carrying my wing on my back. I still can't quite grasp the fact that i can run up mountains, take off and fly hundreds of kilometers. This year i really need some help. in the last race i had to budget on everything, i didn't have proper maps, i looked at 180 kms of the course and realized i would run out of money before the race started, so turned back. Media attention is out of control for this years race, i have chanel 10, 7 and all the big newspapers in Australia wanting interviews before, dureing and after the race but still i have no sponsorship. I'm holding off on them right now, until i can get sponsorship. Yep, i'm getting desperate. You can google my name Lloyd Pennicuik or check out my website and win my wing from last years race. www.lloydy.com.au Even $5 donations will help me. I just worked out that it will cost, (if i complete the whole course) about $30 per kilometer. Every bit of help will count. Thanks in advance. lloyd Pennicuik 0438788573:help:
