I am 47 yo and have always thought about learning to fly but could never quite focus my time and funds enough to get it done. I had a go at GA some years ago but cost time and work meant I never saw it through.

 

Recently my wife bought me a trial flight in a Jabiru for my birthday. I dont think she knew what she was starting but suffice to say i've now got the bug again and am determined to obtain my RA licence.

 

I wont be starting for a few months as i want all the funds in place before I start but will be lurking in here to learn all I can and keep the dream alive.

Hodgsonvale is a nice area, I stayed with friends out there when at tafe in Twmba...

 

I suppose the nearest RAA school from there would be Clifton?

Correct Thomo, I intend to train at Clifton starting around September. Just have to decide between Jabiru or Drifter though having never flown a Drifter i'm favouring the Jab atm.

"Drifter vs Jabiru for training" I asked this question when I was just about to start, so you may like to see the outcome of the conversations.

 

I chose the Drifter, and have absolutely loved it, I'd get a TIF in it to see what you reckon 'cause they are a lot of fun...:thumb_up:
