Guest Fred Bear Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Unfortunately another within 24hrs. A sad weekend for all of us:crying: 20 November 2006 One man has died and another remains in hospital after an ultra-light plane crash south of Walcha yesterday. About 2:45pm the ultra-light aircraft left a private property at Nowendoc before losing control and crashing to the ground. Officers from Oxley Local Area command, ambulance personnel, SES crew and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended. A 41-year-old Armidale man died at the scene. A 30-year-old Nowendoc man was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital in a serious condition with leg and arm fractures. Police are investigating the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner
Guest Fred Bear Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 No dramas. Do not like to be the bearer of this sort of news though.
Student Pilot Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Mark was one of the keenist fliers I've seen, he was flying most weekends and these longer days used to fly afternoons as well. He'd done around 400 hours in the last eighteen months in his drifter. Mark had also posted on this site recently and used to visit here regularly. Nice bloke, he will be missed.
