Guest pelorus32 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Well the best laid plans of mice and men... I was going to take an aircraft up to Mittagong tomorrow but the weather doesn't look great at the other end and the strip's at 1840 feet so...I'm not. So instead I thought I'd take the Storm for a run and have lunch at one of the clubs in Victoria. Who's got something on tomorrow? As long as the northeasterlies don't get too strong it should be a great day for a run. All suggestions welcome...and come to think of it do any other forum members feel like meeting up somewhere in Vic for lunch? Regards Mike
Guest Ken deVos Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Australia's Biggest Morning Tea at Kyneton Mike, not sure if this extends for lunch, but hope to be there as a C172 pax. Australian Aviation Event: Australia's Biggest Morning Tea **CHANGE OF VENUE*

facthunter Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Who else is going? I'll be at Kyneton. Check ERSA for circuit directions. The sealed strip is fairly narrow and has a fair bit of crown on it. Nev.

Also a note from the organisers (TRANSAERO P/L): The grass east west runway at Kyneton is closed for maintenance, the main runway is bitumen, north south, and open!
Guest pelorus32 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Couple of things about YKTN. At the very northern end of 18/36 the tarmac - as has been said - has a hump in it. It is also bumpy for the first little bit. The dirt overrun north of the tarmac was also a bit bumpy and I'm not sure whether it has been graded yet. Please also take care to avoid the first house north of the upwind end of 36 - just to the west of the upwind leg. the idea is to be established on final fairly early (18) and not to turn early (36). Regards Mike
