Guest Maj Millard Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Cessna 150 aerobat right ?, she was holding in left aileron all the way. I was pretty impressed with the way it came right out................................................... Another great demo of that aircraft was in the movie "The Mechanic" where Charles Bronson (or his double) goes out and turns one inside out on his day off.
Yenn Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Couldn't do that in a Chipmunk. It would have gone into a flat spin and then taken about 5 turns to recover.
Guest brentc Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 It looks like the author sped up the footage for our enjoyment, it's happening a little too fast to be believable!
Guest Maj Millard Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 They do have jettsonable doors and you can wear a parachute !!.......did a real through inspection on one recently, and the only major significant difference I could find to a standard C 150 is the G meter in the dash, and extra main spar stiffening angles in the wings, and Oh the jettsonable doors....................................
Tomo Posted May 31, 2009 Author Posted May 31, 2009 Yep, C 150 aerobat... Holding the left aileron in to keep it going, because apparently they are hard to get them to spin properly!
Guest Pop-top Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Thats crazy!...even if it is sped up! I would Loooove to see if I could handle that sort of thing. Not so bad being the pilot...being a passenger....not so much!
Thx1137 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 A couple of weeks ago I started feeling a bit queasy after practicing full slip stalls and incipient spin recovery for 30 minutes so I recon this would really get me going! Damn my weak stomach!
djpacro Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Interesting - follows on from a discussion last year. For info, it is actual rate of rotation and it is a 152. Note the use of inspin aileron to flatten it.
