Guest Old_Moel Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 G'day folks ... I'm originally from Sydney, but now live in Adelaide, and I joined Recreational Flying as a complete bystander last October. I'm not good with sites such as this, so I'm only now getting around to posting [after a memory jogger email ...] I got interested in flying through a kids book [i think it was called "How Planes Fly" or something like that] I read when I was about 5. However, I was born with a spinal injury and a permanent mobility restriction so I never believed I would be able to fly. Nevertheless, 23 years later a car club friend of mine introduced me to Royal Aero Club and I took a trial instructional flight in a Cherokee. I may even have had a shot at flying training if I hadn't failed a subsequent cockpit check [i thought I read at some stage that a flying school - at Albion Park I think - was teaching paraplegics to fly, but that might just have been my fevered imagination !] Anyway, I'm still interested in aeroplanes and flying and like to take and collect photographs of aircraft, visit museums and go to airshows whenever I can. Cheers, Noel
