Hi all

Been researching stuff on the new HKS700 Turbo engine for my Pulsar and Google brought me here.

Nice site, looks like Fun.024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif

Where is EGKL?

Hi Facthunter.

The new HKS turbo engine looks most appealing. 80hp, only 57kgs installed weight. The HKS700E normally aspirated 60 hp version has a reputation for reliability and quality, and its built by one of Japans leading turbo manufacturers. HKS make stuff for fast cars and are well known amongst the custom car fraternity. I've flown 300 hours on the Rotax 582 which has in fact been totally reliable and smooth. The HKS offers more power, (always nice), much longer TBO and nearly double the tank range as the HKS is very economical, circa 9 litres an hour.

Yenn,

I built my Pulsar, its an early mk 1 and its been flying 11 years with no problems.

The single seater also designed by Mark Brown was called the Starlite. 130 mph on a 40HP Rotax 447!!!

EGKL is Deanland airfield in Sussex England. A 450 metre grass strip next to the Sussex Downs.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hks

Yeah, I've done quite a few hours behind a HKS. They are not quite so popular here. High compression and the carbs as supplied ran lean. (Could be our fuel, needed high octane 98.) The engine is an easy starter but a little rough running at lower revs. Neat installation. Nev.
