Yenn Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Subject: Fw: IQ test - BTW - it's not that hard Find the 6th number in the sequence 1, 2, 6, 42, 1806, ??????? Only this number can open the attached document. If you manage to open the file, enter your name, save and pass on. Apparently only people with an IQ of over 120, manage to complete This. Have fun!
dlps73 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 The series appears to be based on the sum of the digit plus the digit ie 1X1+1 =2, 2X2+2+6, 6X6+6=42, 42X42+42=1806 so my calculation makes it 3263442...... Cheers........Doug
ahlocks Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 n(n+1) ....or is the test being able realise that there is no attachment, so don't waste your time??? i_dunno
Yenn Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 You are all so intelligent that I fear the 100 point will go up, making me less intelligent. Curses.

The next number in this sequence is 123456. This is because all the numbers are obviously described by the following equation: number = 7653/8*x^5-227923/24*x^4+793679/24*x^3-1129925/24*x^2+270617/12*x + 1, where 'x' is which number you want, where the first numer is, '1', has x=0. I thought you were going to ask a hard question, like how reliable are Jabiru engines, or when are we going to introduce an RAA command instrument rating. Cheers, Al

turboplanner Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Didn't any of you find the encrypted attachement? What a dumb lot!
Yenn Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Al. I think you will find there is an ommission in your formula, It looks pretty good to me but I think that before x^3-1129925 you have missed out SQ RT of -1*Pi. Have another go and you will find a better answer.
