Jabiru Phil Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Has any one installed a Jabiru supplied header tank fuel gauge? I need some help in the method of installing as no instructions were with the kit. I think a LAME would be my preference but if simple enough I may try myself. Phil.

If fitting a float switch you will need to drill a 2” hole into header tank as per drawing & remove the fibreglass. 15. Drill the ¼” pilot hole from the hole saw to 5/8” to fit the float switch threaded body. 16. Attach the Float switch body to the 2” piece of fibreglass as per drawing. Make sure the switch pivot goes in the up direction. Refer to drawing. 17. Sand the 2” piece of fibreglass & the header tank & prepare for bonding. 18. Tack into position using 5 min epoxy & Flock. 19. Cut 3 layers of fibreglass & lay over join to give a 1” overlap onto the header tank. 20. Let Cure. 21. Check fuel tank for leaks. 22. Hook up low fuel light to panel. ___________________________________________________________________________
