Guest vetteman4292 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I just subscribed to the forum. Hoping to get lots of Info on Quad city Challengers and Getting and receiving Helpful hints on Finishing my Runway and Sport Pilot Certificate (long way to go on both) 8.3 hours toward Sport Pilot Certificate AnD just measured off 950 ft in my Hay field. As soon as my Hay Bailer cuts & bails that section, I will start keeping it mowed down and start smoothing out. He better hurry or I'm going to Lease The Hay to someone else for free. It's almost July and still has not got his First Cutting YET. Sorry about that it just XXXXes me off when 2 people agree on something so simple *^%^$#@%^% OK I'm done gripping. Anyway glad to be here, I don't know much but I'll chime in if I think I can Help. I'm not proof reading the above message. Blood pressure already to high!!!! Thanks, vetteman4292 or Rob H. Guest vetteman4292 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Hi Dexter, Glad to here from ya. I don't make any fancy grass. Just tall fescue & Bermudagrass & some tall wide blade stuff we call Johnson grass. Just regular hay for the cattle to get by in the winter. Congraulations on getting your Pilot Cert. & your plane home. I plan on dragging a Grader Style Blade behind my Old Ford 4000 Tractor for leveling. I don't think it will take all that much work, but I really can't remember how smooth that part of the field is. It's not been cut for 7 months now. I'm not kidding, some of the Johnson Grass is 4 feet tall. It'll all work out. It's gets about 103 degress F. here in by 1:00 PM then I have to go to work in a Battery Factory where it gets 120 degrees F or more. I just want it cut because it's really starting worry me on the chance it could catch on Fire. I have 3 House's (mine,My Parents & My sister) on it plus 2 Barns. And to make matters worse a Train Track (Railroad Track) goes right beside the Hayfield. I remember as a Kid fighting many grass fire with my Grandfather. It was fun back then, But what did I know. It won't be funny now. Like I said It'll all work out. Keep a Good thought for me here in the good ole USA. Nice chatting with ya Dexter, Fly Safe & Often!!! Rob
