I'm wondering how a newly-qualified RA-Aus pilot gets to fly an aircraft for general hire, when they don't have anywhere near the 100 hours PIC that hirers usually ask for? Apart from hiring an aircraft from the flying school that taught you (and even then getting one on the weekend might be pretty difficult), what are the other options for newbies? Even syndicates ask for 100 hours minimum (do you know how long it takes to get that far?).

Thanks,

And is the 100 hours PIC only? PIC is the only thing that makes sense to me but I don't like to assume :-)

I have my pretest booked for two weeks from now (who let our instructors take leave!) so it would be interesting to know these things.

If it is as PIC then that means I will have 88 hours to go so it will take me about 59 weeks averaging 1.5 hours or so per week. That is a long time! If it did include dual hours then in my case it will take about 39 weeks.
