Guest TOSGcentral Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Could anyone please give me the URLs of a couple of good aerial photography sites which give good close-ups of airfields in Oz? I need it for a friend in UK who wants to take a look at where some of us fly. Tks Tony
Admin Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Hi Tony The new website that should go live in about a week or so will have available to forum members goggle earth on all airstrips in Australia (the ones in the ERSA that is) with their details etc - this may help
Guest TOSGcentral Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Tks guys - that gave me exactly what I wanted. Tony
Guest danda Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Ian are you saying that Google earth will be live in a few weeks? Don
Admin Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Ian are you saying that Google earth will be live in a few weeks? Don - Don, the new site has a page where there is a map of Australia and as you zoom in on a State for example flags appear locating every airstrip. As you move your mouse over the flag all the airstrip details pop up. You then click a button and the image swaps over to Google Earth where you can zoom in and out of the airstrip and surrounding areas.Private airstrips will get added as I get informed of them. Early next year I hope to develop it further so a user can select a From airstrip and a To airstrip, select their aircraft from their on-line Aircraft Log which will have all their aircraft details and then click a button and their trip is all presented for them to print out including both airfield details, weather reports along their trip, heading, tracks etc. But that is a big coding job which as I said I will try and do early next year and note that it will only be available for Forum members to use.
Guest danda Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Fantastic I will look forward to it I have to say this Ian this would have to be the best web page I have ever been on and to your credit you are adding to it all the time with new innervationsthanks mate. Don
