BecM Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 We had a shed give up and some roof sheets try and come off. It was great fun trying to race around and secure everything. Watching th gum trees at a 90 degree bend was scary, you are never sure becuase of the drought if they are going to be strong enough to stay upright. Looks like we are in for another belting today. Guest brentc Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Our Cessna Caravan flew from Tooradin to Marree yesterday. He left at 7am for what should have been a 4.5 hour flight. Last time I spoke to him on the way there, his expected flight duration was 6hrs 30 mins. Ouch! Luckily for my trip on Friday the winds will be more s - s/w which won't be so bad.
Guest Brett Campany Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 We had the same conditions over here as well. The wife and I spent a wet and windy weekend in Margaret River where I've never seen such strong winds and so much rain! We had sideways rain for the better part of the 3 days and there was debris everywhere! Just love winter....
Simonflyer Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Its good for any pilots who havent got their XC though..You could do 6 hours of straight and level flying and still not have departed the circuit!
BecM Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Does not being able to fly count as damage? I think it does.. damage to my good times and mental health :)
Guest brentc Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I know of a Cessna Grand Caravan that was flying North West on Tuesday with a Ground Speed of as low as 88 knots. This aircraft normally cruises at around 165 knots+. Try that in your LSA55 or Gazelle !
