Deskpilot Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Forgive me for posting this here rather than in the Commercial Aviation section, but I thought it might be of interest to all. Subject: AIR FRANCE CRASH PHOTOS The world saw the disappearance of an A330 Air Frane during its trans Atlantic flight between Rio to Paris . Here are two shots taken inside the plane before it crashed. The two photos attached were taken by one of the passengers before the aircraft crashed. This extraordinary photographer kept his cool, even in his last moments of life, to take these photos. The photos were retrieved from the camera's memory stick. You will never again see photos like this.In the first photo, there is a gaping hole in the fuselage through which you can see the tailplane and a vertical fin of the aircraft. In the second photo, one of the passengers is seen being sucked out of the gaping hole. The photos were found in a digital Casio Z750, amidst the debris. Although the camera was destroyed, the Memory Stick was recovered. Investigating the serial number of the camera, the owner was identified as Paulo G. Muller, an actor of a theatre for children known in the outskirts of Porto Alegre .. It can be imagined that he was standing during the turbulence, he managed to take these photos, just seconds after the tail loss and the aircraft plunged. The structural stress probably ripped the engines away, diminishing the falling speed, protecting the electronic equipment but unfortunately not the victims. Paulo Muller leaves behind two daughters, Bruna and Beatriz. My take on these pictures is that the initial de-pressurization had long gone since mask have fallen and been fitted. The photographer held his camera up, pointing rearwards, and hoped for the best. If he had been standing, he would have been sucked out as well. The poor fellow seen going out can be seen in the first image, last in line on the right. It appears that his seat got torn out, but then why wasn't he still strapped in it? We can only speculate on a very sad day. The finding of the camera was truely amazing in it's own right, the fact that the digital info was still there, only more so.
Guest Brett Campany Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 That's been shown as a hoax, the two photos are actually from the plane accident in the TV series LOST. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25679077-401,00.html
dunlopdangler Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Regardless of those photos being actually part of the "lost" TV series and the fact that media will stop at no length/truth to get a good story, thoughts must be with those unfortunate enough to experience such an occurance
Thx1137 Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Looking at the pics I was having a "holy ****" moment but then my daughter came over and told me it was from Lost too.
Guest Brett Campany Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 It's all good DP, typical of the media world though isn't it!
Tomo Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Regardless of those photos being actually part of the "lost" TV series and the fact that media will stop at no length/truth to get a good story, thoughts must be with those unfortunate enough to experience such an occurance Yes, a very sad experience alright... it would be downright scary!thumb_down Regardless if their from "Lost" or not, I imagine a plane like that braking up would be similar in the circumstances...
Guest ozzie Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I think reporters that do this sort of thing should be taken out the back and flogged then never allowed to work in that field ever again. sick puppies they are
facthunter Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Hoax. Don't think you can blame reporters for this sort of stuff. Anything can end up on U-tube etc. Nev..
