turboplanner Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Call me slow witted, but I think Thumper's excited!
Guest Pop-top Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Sorry, I don't usually type/talk with so many exclamation marks!
slartibartfast Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I think Turbo's right on both counts. I know how you feel Jodie. My daughter gave me a flight in a Pitts S2C for my 50th last year. I had a ball. Best present ever, or at least since my first wife gave me that particular daughter.
Tomo Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Way to go Jodie. You had a better father's day than most of us fathers. You trying to pull someone's leg again Slarti? Cause I don't think "She's" a father!!! Ps. Actually come to think of it, it's just the way it's worded that it makes it sound like that!
turboplanner Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Ah, Slarti you subtle beast! ...there'll be an opportunity sometime soon though! What was the Pitts like to land?
slartibartfast Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Not subtle enough. I don't have a conventional gear endorsement and haven't flown one since my Blanik days, so I didn't take off or land. The horsepower would have bitten me for sure. I flew much of the rest of the time though, and loved it.
djpacro Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Grandpa, Robert "Bob" Davis. Rumour has it he owned the first aerobatics plane at the field or taught it...not sure. Sorry, I haven't heard the name so probably way before my time. available here[/url]. One or two from S.A. usually go - email Grant at that website for more info.
Guest Pop-top Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Thank you so much for the details. I've looked into the comp and it looks very exciting! Think I might just have to go and check it out
