There is a brass plug in the bottom of the Bing just fwd of the butterfly.

Does anyone know if that is just a plug that can be drilled & tapped to mount a carb temp probe?

Or does that Brass plug contain fuel or air-ways?

If so, what does that brass plug do?

Here are 2 pics of the brass plug to which I referred above .... just aft of the 2 screws and on the centreline of the carby.

Thanks Marcus.

That is me trying to get some info from those forum members as well.

I also asked the question on the Yahoo Jabiru Engines group.

And the answer is...?

Has anyone considered posting the actual answer to the question? Or perhaps posting a link to the answer?

The brass plug is not to be drilled. The place for the temp probe is shown in the J230@YSWG thread and it works great there. It tells you eactly when you have an ice problem starting.

Do you need anything more?

I found the right thread

Wow. There are a LOT of threads matching that string.

To save others from having to search the hundreds of pages, here is a link -

Specifically it shows a single picture -

Thank you for the nudge in the right direction,
