glongrid Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Hi fellow enthusiasts. This is my first post & hopefully not my last. I am seeking advice as to which ultralight kit to purchase as I have a recently erupted desire to build & fly. I have only ever flown warriors & tomahawks. Never an ultralight. Some considerations I have in mind are: 2 seater Tricycle undercarraige Easy build Good after sales service STOL Minimal hidden costs Examples of craft for perusal No sheetmetal forming requirements Metal frame & skin RA-Aus / CASA certified Double garage available for assembly. Can anyone give me a heads up on some appropriate makes & models to investigate? Regards, Gordo.
Guest Redair Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Yeah, what about a Savannah, or the Savannah is good, also I think you will find that the Savannah fits your requirements. Apart from those the only other one I can think of would be the Savannah. Can you see a pattern emerging here? Just thought I'd get in first! Redair.
Vorticity Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Check out skykits.com for a great build log of the savannah, pretty impressive!
crashley Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 HI I am building an rv12 have a look at vans site for more info
Yenn Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Have a look at Morgan Aeroworks. There is a forum site on this site. It may not be quite what you want for STOL, but is a pretty good plane.
Guest Redair Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Check out skykits.com for a great build log of the savannah, pretty impressive! Yep, that will show you quite a bit, but note that it is the old model, (with leading edge slats) There are newer versions, VG and XL now which look a little different and have various upgrades. Redair.
glongrid Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Just a quick update. Have ordered savvy XL VG. Should arrive early to mid Oct. Hope to keep you all updated on build progress. If I seem to be slack in this regard your prompting will not offend me. Regards, Gordo.
Phildo Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Gezz man! That was quick!!! I'd hate to be around when you have a really strong desire!!! Alright, Savannah it is then.
