Lightspeed Zulu and Vertex Transceiver

Has anyone successfully used a Zulu headset with a Vertex 220? I have been trying using a PTT switch without any success. Would appreciate any help.

I recently had problems with a vertex and D Clarks (with ANR kit) - may not be relevant, but one of the headset plugs was going into adapter too far, had to space with a washer to get good contact.

 

Also ANR picks up bad feedback from handheld through headset leads, need 2 x ferrites on the headset to solve

It took two washers for me to get adequate spacing and I bonded them to the socket with a dash of alraldite. I find vertex plus lightspeed to be better than my panel radio. The unit works 100% better when connected to the aircraft antenna although I think it might damage the radios if they were both connected to the same antenna simultaneously.
