Guest ozzie Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Walt has done four return trips across America 25,000 miles and 300 airports all in a Quicksilver. what was all that about 'tiger country'.?
sain Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 For a quicksilver mx I saw bugger all that I'd classify as tiger country personally - 2 shots maybe.. Being able to stop inside of 25 meters (from touchdown) gives you one hell of a range of landing sites.
Guest ozzie Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I'd hate to have to take on that rocky canyon area.
Guest Maj Millard Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Ozzie, Where do you get this stuff.....Just really enjoyed that, especially over NYC. I learnt to fly in an MXL2, but it had wires not struts. Looking at those rudder pedals out front bought back many memories..couldn't you just fly around in monument valley for the rest of your life ?....Thanks Ross................................
Guest ozzie Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 on the oshkosh365 forum. The flight planning for that trip down the Hudson was pretty involved with a couple of control zone and freq changes and really tight lanes to remain in. this was the same area as that recent midair. amazing tho flying a two stroke powered rag and tube past high rise buildings talking to the same controllers looking after the heavies. be a blast. you could spend the rest of your life finding your way out of monument park. ozzie
Simonflyer Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 He actually still manages to get the shots tho!One of the new york shots is straight into the site where the twin towers were. What an incredible journey.....x4!
