Years ago before I went to the States I wrote Andy a letter for some info.(early 70s) He sent back a nice reply...I should see if I can dig it up, it would be great to give it back to him at the reunion next year......................................................................024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif

Got this from an email:

News reporter & the Pilot

His request approved, the Fox News photographer quickly used a cell phone to call the local airport to charter a flight.

He was told a twin-engine plane would be waiting for him at the airport.

Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hanger.

He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, 'Let's go'.

The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off.

Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, 'Fly over the valley and make low passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.'

'Why?' asked the pilot.

'Because I'm a photographer for Fox Cable News,' he responded. 'And I need to get some close up shots.'

The pilot was strangely silent for a moment, finally he stammered, 'So, what you're telling me, is . . . you're NOT my flight instructor?'

Most gulls don't bother to learn more than the simplest facts of flight -- how to get from shore to food and back again. For most gulls, it is not flying that matters, but eating. For this gull, though, it was not eating that mattered, but flight. More than anything else, Jonathan Livingston Seagull loved to fly.

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

Words, poetry and flying!

My 10c worth.

If you want pure poetry, prose and a dedication to aviation, it's gotta be Richard Bach:-

Rex: [as he and the other toys applaud and whistle] Whoooooooooooooa! Oh, wo you flew magnificently!

Bo Peep: I've found my moving buddy.

Buzz: [proudly] Thank... th-thank you all, thank you!

Woody: That wasn't flying! That was... falling with style!
