slartibartfast Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 That sound I heard a few days ago was the passing of September, and I've only just realised it. Whoosh "What was that?" "That was your life son." "Is that it? Do I get another?" So it's time to kick off the October iteration of this great competition. I hope you've all been checking out the Pacific Flyer magazine competition page, not to mention the front page. Many great shots have been coming from us, let's keep it going. Don't forget to have a high resolution version of your photo available for publication, and to send it to Angela at when she announces the winners. Good luck all.
slartibartfast Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 Just to kick it off, this is my wife's favourite shot from Cowra.
Guest Qwerty Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Flinders Island from about 9Nm west at 6500. That's what life's all about.
Guest Brett Campany Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Taking the Texan down to Margaret River tomorrow so I'll see what we can come up with!
Tomo Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 P40F Kittyhawk This is one awesome photo Matt! well done.
Yenn Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Globe Swift is a great shot. Lovely background, fine quality.
Philthy Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Very nice work indeed, Matt! Here's what I was doing yesterday, in between working on the Whale: (Not me flying - it's my old mate Prong.)
Tomo Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Not Recreational, but it's one of my "better" aircraft photography attempts! A pretty Humorous Pic really, "Excuse me coming through"
Tomo Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Jabiru 120... Taken from my phone, so this is as high as the quality go's!
Spin Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Very artistic Tomo - like the Jumbo! Twinkletoes - an errant puff of crosswind made this takeoff at Boonah a little more interesting than most.
Guest Maj Millard Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Gee and I thought it was your classic one-wheeler, to eliminate the bounce !
Spin Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Major, I thought I'd get in first, before someone starts posting photos of some of the godawful landings I've produced of late. Reminder to self; LSA types are Low Inertia aircraft.
Guest Maj Millard Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Spin, 80% of my time would be in taildraggers, and the old skyfox is a real one. Fly it all the way to the hangar, and don't stick it on a knot too fast !....I have flown worse , but not often......................................
stanzahero Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Flying at 2500 ft over Dimboola... Proof that there is water in Victoria...
Orienteer Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Here's one of about 400 I took at the Jamestown Airshow! Chris Sperou.... Awesome pilot

Scottw Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Hey Guys was at Dalby today (22/10/09) doing some work out there and took some time out and had a bit of a sticky beak around the aircraft parking ramp. Love the big radial Rockwell Thrush's Just wanting to know who owns that lovely Luscombe. I fell in love........again! Actually happens to me a lot. Scott
slartibartfast Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 Nice Tomo! Anyone know what happened to last month's comp, there were some pretty good entries there. I'll chase it up Spin. Meanwhile, get your entries in this month - not long to go. Photos from this competition have adorned the last couple of front pages. Let's keep it up.
