Matt Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Great shots Phil and a great day...interesting bendy-prop lens you had today ;-)
Philthy Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Same lens as always. Checked your prop lately...?
Philthy Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 So here it is...the Slartiplane!
GraemeK Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 terrific shot! Almost made me call Gary and place an order straight away! EDIT: for the Cheetah, that is, not for Slarti
skydog Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 This has to be the most photographed aircraft on this site. Absolutely lovely design and paint job, worthy of a designer of planets!!
slartibartfast Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 That's a great shot Philthy. Where the hell was it though? Would you be willing to send me a high res version? That would go straight to the pool room. GraemeK - I may not be as expensive as you think.
Philthy Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Where the hell was it though? A rather long touchdown on Bundaberg's runway 25 on the evening of 4 July. Would you be willing to send me a high res version? That would go straight to the pool room. Of course - send me an email.
skydog Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Great shot Naemick. Not that I am biased! Most unusual angle of my pride and joy the RV6A LDC. I saw Slarti`s Cheetah at Temora that day but not Slarti.
naemick Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Of course these is no bias in you kind comments! Your LDC did just appear behind me... but I was lucky enough to turn just in time! thanks Michael
skydog Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Naemick. Have you entering the monthly photo competition on this site? You can win a 6 months subscription to flying magazine. I think you would do extremely well. Some quality competion for Philthy:laugh:

I think you would do extremely well. Some quality competion for Philthy:laugh: By posting it in this thread, he has entered. Last few days folks. Get your entries in to win. I might even go to Temora this weekend for another photo phest. Two Red Bull Air Racers, Matt Hall and Nigel Lamb, will be there. Nigel has come over from England to fly the Museum's Spitfire, and Matt will bring his Mustang. Awesome. There will be 2 visiting Avengers too. Just in time to post some more entries here. Anyone else?
naemick Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I did stumble upon the mag a couple of weeks ago and thought I would enter the comp. As you might guess from looking at my Flickr pics, I do tend to take a few AC pics :) I am really hoping to get over this weekend to Temora.... Should be an awesome couple of days. Michael

Philthy Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Though far from old, this Sportstar was attending the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Auster Rally at Broken Hill. The eagle-eyed will also note the Whale in the background!
Philthy Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 The J.5 Adventurer was basically a four-seat Autocrat developed for Australia and New Zealand, using war-surplus Australian-production Gipsy Majors. This one was manufactured in 1950 and shipped to Australia engineless where Kingsford Smith Aviation Service, Sydney, fitted the engine. It was first registered on 31 July 1951. It's seen here at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Auster Rally.

Philthy Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Just to keep things trickling along until the December thread opens...here are two of the 'Russian Roolettes' formation team getting airborne for their display at Bundaberg. Jim Wickham's Yak on the Prowl has to be seen up close to really appreciate the spectacular paint job!
