farri Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Who Needs Some Water?. Just checked the rain gague and after 3 months of almost no rain at all,we`ve now had 375 millimetres in 4 days. How`s everyone in the dry country, anyone getting any of this stuff. Cheers, Frank.
Yenn Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 We got 4.5 earlier this month. At least I am able to get into the dam and start deepening it, but rain is desperately needed. Fruit set has been ruined by the dry winds. Next year will be bad. At least I can go flying without getting wet.
Guest Maj Millard Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Watch it Frank, you know what happen last time you danced naked around the place...:no no:
Guest Andys@coffs Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Recently I movd from SA to Coffs Harbour NSW. I still work for BAE Systems in SA and fly to Adelaide once a month for a week. When I left Coffs last Sunday we had basically just finished our 6th flood for the year and in this one we had just short of 540mm in 24hrs. When I arrived into Adelaide it was 39degrees and it stayed that way for the entire week. When I arrived there was still some elements of green (SA style) but by Friday there wasnt much of that left. That 24hrs of rain in Coffs is about the Adelaide plains annual rainfall Tis a cruel country ours. In Coffs we have had more water this year than we should and most has just washed out to sea as runoff. On the other side of the great dividing range ....nada Andy
Tomo Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 We got about 30mm last weekend I think it was! Very nice, but we could do with a loooooooooooooooot more!
BecM Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Weather We went from a nice rain fall (looked like the drought may have been breaking) to a week of 40 degrees and no respite in sight. So all that nice rain, has basically dried up. And its a bit to hot to fly nicely :( Stay well and fly safe Bec
Relfy Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I flew over Bjelke Peterson Dam today and the water is way down, even more than last time I flew over a few months ago even though we've had a bit of rain in the meantime. Send some up this way!
