8.00 x 6 Tubes

Hi folks, this is my first post here and I am already asking for help.

 

I am fitting 8.00 x 6 tyres on new Blackmax rims on my single place ultralight. I have purchased bent valve tubes in this size but really need straight valve tubes. These are proving hard to find. Can anyone advise where they know I can get straight valve tubes in 8.00 x 6 for a reasonable price please?

 

I am located on the South side of Brisbane (Qld - Australia).

I recently ordered some 8.00 x 6 bent valves here in Townsville and he sourced them from Brisbane. Have you tried the ride-on mower shops ?.

Thanks for the reply. I went straight to the source, the tyre wholesalers Bearcat Tyres and Carlisle Tyres, neither stock straight valve. Airborne (microlights) and the local Savannah dealer also only keep bent valve for their tundra tyres.

 

I haven't tried the mower shops but this is a good suggestion. I think they will only have what the importers have (bent valve) but you never know. I'll try them. Thanks again.

A mower shop will be able to supply without a problem.Hint, do not tell them the final fitment application as the re-seller's become "veeeeery" nervous about "Things Aviation!"

I have tried the mower shops but no luck there. Aviall at Archerfield have the tubes I want but at $100+gst this makes them dearer than the tyres.

 

The local AircraftSpruce agent say they can get me a pair next week for $30 each plus delivery so I have placed an order. They still need to confirm they are straight valve rather than bent valve though so it may come to nothing but here's hoping.

I didn't know you could get tyres and tubes through Clear Prop Ian. I visit Clear Prop occasionally just to see what you have in there but I've never seen tubes. So you can get all products as shown on the Wicks Aircraft Supply website yeh? Is pricing as per their website plus shipping?

Yes Mate as Clear Prop is the Australian agent for Wicks - the prices are pretty much the same (but with USD to AUD exchange rate) however there is also the shipping, gst if over $1,000 and a 3% bank charge on credit card exchange rate - however all these are what you would have to pay if you went direct anyway but you get an Australian location for warranty, shipment tracking, communications (Aust time) etc.

 

Clear prop also can supply anything from Here as well - most of these ones can be obtained over night

 

There are over 10,000 items however I just can't put them all in the shop as prices are continually changing with the exchange rate, products come and go with the suppliers, takes 10mins per item to add into the shop etc

I hadn't considered Clear Prop either as the catalogue items listed from the link here don't include tyres etc. I did have a look at the Wicks link you provided though. Unfortunately the only 8.00 x 6 tube listed to suit the Carlisle tyre is bent valve in the Wicks link also.
