Guest Fred Bear Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Hello all, There was a gyrocopter crash just out of Mudgee on Saturday (30/12/06). Was listening to the scanner when it came through. Two 000 calls concerning it. Pilot was seen to descend too quickly. Thankfully his wife picked him up. He crash landed but suffered nil injuries. A good result. :)
Guest bateo Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 The pilot is fine,He misjudged his descend... Lucky boy!
Guest bateo Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 A Gyrocopter crashed on a property near Rylstone at 4:30pm Saturday. The aircraft was being flown by a student pilot, a 33 year-old Baulkham Hills man, with a 66-year-old Currajong man as pilot instructor. Twenty minutes after take-off from Rylstone aerodrome and at a height of 2000ft asl the pilot commenced to descend and hit wind turbulance. Police stated the pilot and instructor were unable to gain control of the aircraft and it crashed. Both Pilots managed to release themselves from the wreckage, The pilot instructor was uninjured but the student suffered a wound and abrasions to his left leg and treated a Rylstone hospital. The gyrocopter was severly damaged and all the appropriate authorites were informed of the incident for further investigation.
Guest Fred Bear Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Thanks for the info Sam. When I heard it come through on the police radio I assumed the worst. Was a relief to hear that they were okay.
