cscotthendry Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 It is really sad, but history is littered with the wreckage of adventurers who made bad choices. I feel for his family.
dazza 38 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 HI, i just read the gold coast bulletin says pretty much the same as above. MY condolences to his family.
Guest Maj Millard Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Sad indeed...I must say that when I heard of this attempt about a month ago, I did question his departure at this time of the year. In particular his planned arrival in eight weeks to the North of Australia, where it could be expected that there would still be a very active monsoon trough, as there is now, complete with two active cyclones. That certainly would have been a challange also..............................................................................
Guest Crezzi Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 I know Martin was aware of the Aussi wet season Trips of that size & distance are near enough impossible to plan on getting the best flying conditions for everywhere on the route. Right time in one area will put you at the wrong time somewhere else. Cheers John
