skybum Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Eggenfellner are doing a conversion on these all alloy Honda engines in direct competion with the 912 Rotax...looks the goods and better performance. 20hp better at 75% but it weighs about 90kgs as opposed to 70kgs. Will have to keep an eye on this engine. Looks like Honda is also making this engine available for race applications so a source of stronger components. Eggenfellner Honda Engines
Deskpilot Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Hey Skybum, your photo's aren't big enough :hittinghead:
Vev Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Looks interesting ... great price at US$12k Cheers Jack
Jay Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Yes .... the weight disadvantage compared to the Rotax will require a few hp but looks good value overall
skybum Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 Sorry about the size, I linked straight from the Egggenfellner site. Looks a good fit in the zenith. The link to the video also sounds quite impressive as well. How close is the Jazz to a Jabi engine in weight comparison?
Vev Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 The Jab 6 cyclinder (120hp) is 178 lb and the Honda 199 lb ... the Jab is close enough to 10kg lighter. Cheers Jack
Sloper Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Yes but the Suburu looks a great replacement for a 0-360 and at that price :) regards Bruce
