An interesting new aerobatic aircraft being developed by Fabio Russo (who works for TECNAM).

The FR-01 will start the "Fun Ultralight and LSA" category. It will be available from the spring 2010 only ready to fly (available in kit from 2011). Single seat, 375kg WTO and Rotax 912S with power kits up to 135hp...Ready to fly FUN?

The website is not a lot of use right now - slow to load initially but has some good images and you can have fun reading the technical Italian. A message from him yesterday:

index is now online!!! next week it will be in both italian and english and faster to opening

Looks real nice DJP, i will look forward to the english version next week. Looks real like a pilots plane though. I mean a lot of tail wheel time will be needed i think. FUN THOUGH

I just googled Dallair FR-01. It has its own face book in face book.(if that makes sense). Great photos, and description in english . It looks like plus/minus 6 g. 35ltr tank. available in sport or tourer and something else, cant remember.Appears to have easy wing removal for transport, yippie. Cheers

Hi all, the static testing has been completed, on the torsional fuselage and engine mount. Wing broke at 9.8 g, during static testing at maximum bending point(15 of june).Operate safety at 6 g Dallair are doing some mods, then retest to get the wing to 10/11 g,ultimate load to increase the service life. They are aiming at Kits, and ready to fly a/c, to start being delivered around early 2011. Just posted this for general interest .Cheers Daryl

Dj... Is this the Decathlon replacement? I think its a shame there are not more single seat aircraft available. This one looks nice.
