Admin Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hi Ian,Been away in NZ this week, just got back and paid for mine tonight, but I might have screwed up. I think I may have only ordered 2 originally but paid for 3 tonight. So just send me a standard one with the other 2 if I did screw up or count it as a payment for one of Darky's or Slarti's. Happy to do what is easier for you. You guys have put a lot of work into this and it is much appreciated. David Hi David Seems yours is really screwed up. You paid for 3 Page 7 - post # 66 has you down for 4 and I have 6 stickers with David I printed on them Please let me know what you would like to do - thanks!
Admin Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Another batch of stickers have gone out today. Please, if you ordered any bumper stickers can you make your payment so I can send them off to you and then start to offer the spares to others
DarkSarcasm Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 I'm glad everyone likes their stickers, I have to wait until I'm back in Melbourne to see mine I think Slarti deserves most of the credit for the stickers, without his fantastic artwork the stickers wouldn't be half as awesome as they are. Thanks for your help Slarti
slartibartfast Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hope you can handle them (and like them) David. I seemed to have stuffed up the count on yours. Thanks Darky - and again - no worries. Glad everyone likes them. I love having mine on the car. The cat wasn't too impressed when I stuck one on him though. I figured he'd support something from the same genus.
pudestcon Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Received my bumper stickers today and am delighted with the finished product. Thanks again to Slarti, Darky, Ian, Corrine and whoever else is involved. Cheers, Pud
pudestcon Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Yeh David I know what you mean. I was discussing the different slogans on the stickers with my wife and daughter yesterday and they were not ammused at the reference to "slip it in" - not even when I explained the term is an aviation one meaning to side slip for rapid reduction in altitude. Pud

I'm still waiting to hear what GraemeK's wife said about that one :stirring pot:
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Pud, I just have to say how good you look in those sunnies, don't you think so Darky ?..I mean you look like a flyer now Pud !......................Maj...
DarkSarcasm Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 Indeed yes Maj, but I better not say too much, Tomo might get jealous
Tomo Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Indeed yes Maj, but I better not say too much, Tomo might get jealous How thoughtful... You do look pretty shmick though Pud.
pudestcon Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Well to get I wonder how a photo would go/ would have gone on the bumper sticker. Pud
slartibartfast Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Well to get I wonder how a photo would go/ would have gone on the bumper sticker.Pud Your avatar photo on a bumper sticker would could traffic accidents. I would have refused on moral grounds. Technically, they would rock. Mine had a photo of my plane and it looks fantastic. The quality of the printing on these stickers was great. The clouds in the background is a photo. I snapped it at Adaminaby one day.

I didn't even think about a photo for the bumper stickers and probably would have included a photo. I take your point Slarti (and everyone elses it seems:big_grin:) and would probably pick a much better example. Pud
DarkSarcasm Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 About 3 weeks after the stickers were printed, I'm finally back in Melbourne to see mine and all I can say is that it looks awesome! Had to take a piccie of it on my car
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Darky, Ian, Slarti and Corrine, Recieved my stickers, and I'm very impressed with them. They are twice as big as I imagined, but that's not a problem. Noticed also that they were hand cut out, which must have been tiresome. I know I'll put one of each on the plane, just need to find somewhere for the rest now. Impressive...thank you all. PUD, I really want your avatar dial on my rear bumper, that way nobody would be game enough to tailgate me anymore..........................................................................Maj..
pudestcon Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 PUD, I really want your avatar dial on my rear bumper, that way nobody would be game enough to tailgate me anymore..........................................................................Maj.. Well I was accused just 2 days ago of being intimidatoryi_dunno Let me tell you I'm a fairly large bloke and slow moving but I won my last fight by 100 metres:laugh: I gotta do something about that avatar.........:cool_shades: Now back on topic... sort of. I remember the bumper stickers had their genesis in a thread about caps. Is anything happening about getting Recreational Flying caps and can someone point me in the direction of the relevant thread? I've done a search but can't see what I'm looking for. Pud
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 No Pud, Don't change your avatar...it's the best !.................................Maj..
DarkSarcasm Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 . I remember the bumper stickers had their genesis in a thread about caps. Is anything happening about getting Recreational Flying caps and can someone point me in the direction of the relevant thread? The cap idea started in the original bumper sticker ideas thread. I spoke to studentbiggles who spoke to Ian and last I heard Ian was in discussions with somebody who does embroidery/cap design. Methinks we need to ask the boss what (if anything) is happening with the cap idea :)

slartibartfast Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 They work! Forumite David Isaac was in Canberra for a conference yesterday and happened to park right next to my car. He noticed the sticker and left his calling card. Stupendously serendipitous.
Spin Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I still want to see the cap idea come to fruition, a) keeps the sun off me head and, b) I may get to meet the odd forumite at flyins instead of hearing afterwards that they were there too! I think I developed an aversion to bumper stickers at uni where they were regularly employed to keep the rust fragments that made up my old Mazda, flying in formation.

When that idea was proposed I pm'd StudentBiggles who chatted to Ian and I'm not sure what happened after that. Maybe the Boss could tell us if anything did actually happen? But yeah, personally, I've got no idea what was going on with that although we could try to restart the idea and have them done before spring/summer starts?
