Hi All,

After many years of dreaming about it and a couple of TIFs, I've finally taken the leap and decided to takes some flying lessons out at Lilydale.

I nearly got in the air last Sunday, but after taxiing out to the strip we had to abort because of high wind. Apparently being thrown around in unstable air isn't favorable when learning straight and level flight...

Looking forward to a second attempt this weekend, and to many more.

Cheers

Andy, awesome work. You are one step further towards doing something amazing. Keep at it mate, you will love it. Learning on the jab is also an excellent move as it will set you up for all types.

Keep us posted on your progress and keep at it. Is is exciting, challenging, rewarding, difficult, frustrating and really takes you out of your comfort zone but above all it is just damn fun. You just need to adjust your comfort zone! 006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

Good on you Andy - Lilydale is a great place to learn (except for the crosswinds, there's days you wish we had a cross runway).

Might see you around there some time!

Hi Andy,

Wow, not only do you fly out of the same place I do, you live in my suburb as well! 006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

Lilydale is a good place to learn, although I agree with Graeme, there are days when you just really wish there was a cross runway! It's good that you're starting in summer, I started in May (right before winter) so had a fair few lessons cancelled because of crosswinds and bad weather... thumb_down

Who are you flying with?

If you see me there, feel free to come and say hi :)

Well andyp, even if it was an abortive step, it was the first of many to complete the big picture you have created for yourself.

Well done.

And :welcome:to our forums.

Regards, Decca.

Thank you all for the encouragement, I'll let you know how I go... Might even bump into some of you at Lilydale (hopefully not while in flight ;))

Hi DarkSarcasm,

I'm flying with Tom. He's in Friday to Monday so I'll probably be doing most of training on the weekend.

I'll keep a lookout for you :)
