Ken Bates...(KB59) SOLO !!

Congrats are in order for Ken Bates (KB59 on this site) who soloed a week or so ago at Charters Towers in a Drifter. Ken bought my 582 Drifter but due to various factors hadn't managed to get his solo in since buying it. Ken has trained in a couple of different Drifters, a Gazelle and a Savage Cub at Boonah, so has accumulated some valuable experience in different aircraft up to now.

 

He has yet to fly my/his Drifter, but I've got a feeling it won't be far off, now that the solo is out of the way. Well done Ken, Kudos for hanging in there !.........................Maj...

Dangler, Assuming you mean E. Dundas ?.......if so last time I ran into him was at the RAAF base fly-in last Sept, he dropped by to say hello, looks good but not sure if he's doing much flying.....Cheers.............................................Maj...

Yep thats him..does he come on here or is he still making his home brew when he's at home, did he ever finish off that zodiac?

Dangler, Can't say I've seen him on the site, and yes I do believe he finished the Zodiac but not sure if he flew it, or what happened to it.......................................Cheers .....Maj...
